While the role of Laxman was offered to Sanjay Jog who played Bharat but he refused because he had already a busy schedule which ended up in the role of Bharat. Arvind Trivedi who played the role of Ravana had gone to audition for boatman but landed for the role of Ravana. While for the role of Ram, Arun Govil had to go through 2 screen tests, and after that, he was selected for this Historic Role.

Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan garnered 40 Million Viewership in India when it was telecast for the first time in India in 1987.

Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana had become the most popular and most viewed Mythological Serial and also became the most-watched historical series in Limca Book of Records.

If we talk about today's time than it had garnered 650 Million total viewership by telecasting in 55 countries. This Show beat the Popular English Show Game of Thrones. Looking at the Popularity Star Plus telecasted on May 4th, 2020.

3. Review and Impact of Ramayan - 

Arun Govil who played the role of Ram had to quit smoking because of this character because after this show people started to admire him a lot which he had to come on the decision to quit smoking.

After this Serial Arun Govil(Ram), Deepika Chikhalia(Sita), and Sunil Lahri(Laxman) had offered many ads that were inappropriate to the audience but they refused to do it because of the image they had built among the audience which they didn't want to get hampered.

After this serial two actors went to become members of Parliament who were none other than Deepika Chikhalia(Sita) and Arvind Trivedi(Ravana).

4. Budget and Earnings - 

Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan had made with the budget of ₹9 Lakhs per Episode which was the most expensive TV show produced at that time and each episode had earned around ₹40 lakh which in total had bought ₹23 crores at that time.
